Taking our bags to the Riad HamdaneThe van that collected us certainly wasn't going down these narrow lanes! We arrived at Marrakesh Airport in 36/97 degree heat. Our arranged transport actually worked this time (it hadn't in Istanbul). The van brought us as close as it could, then our bags were handed to a specialist hand trucker who wheeled them to Riad Hamdane – which is lucky, because we wouldn't have found it on our own!
The Riad is lovely, although the room is not quite what we've been used to so far. We'll manage.
We are just two or three left and right turns away from Jemaa-el-Fnaa, the main square in Marrakesh. Last night we ventured out to eat and were completed knocked out by the place. I read in one travel guide that whoever named the Barnum and Bailey Circus "The Greatest Show on Earth" clearly hadn't visited Jemma-el-Fnaa at night. I concur!
More from us later, depending on Internet access.
